Celebrating Faculty Achievements
Faculty members at Canisius are engaged in a broad array of scholarly endeavors such as conducting empirical research, authoring novels and poetry, scientific bench research, applied research in the social sciences, creating works of art and music, just to name a few. Often, faculty members extend their students' learning opportunities by monitoring the students through the research and creative process. This creates the integration of teaching, learning, and scholarship that is at the heart of the Canisius experience.
Scholarship
Each year, support for scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis from each of our three deans' offices, the Center for Teaching Excellence, as well as through the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Those funding programs, and award recipients include:

Canisius faculty member's work is also supported through competitively granted federal funds, foundation support, and additional sources.

All gifts made to support Science Hall through May 31, 2012 will be matched through a $1 million challenge grant from the John R. Oishei Foundation.
