Welcome to Canisius College!
We are a vibrant community of students, teacher-scholars, and staff living and working in Buffalo, New York, the cultural, intellectual, and economic center of Western New York. Our Jesuit heritage calls us to create learning, service, and research experiences that are student-centered and significant to the world in which we live. Our students excel in the classrooms and labs, engage in service to others locally, nationally, and internationally, and develop knowledge, skills, and values that identify them as men and women living for and with others for years to come.
Our faculty members take seriously our tradition of Ignatian pedagogy, reaching out to students where they are in the learning process, grounding learning on students’ experiences, while maintaining rigorous standards that prepare students exceptionally well for graduate school, medical and other professional schools, and employment after graduation. Those faculty members also make possible research opportunities for students, expanding learning opportunities far beyond the classrooms. At Canisius, we understand the importance of the union of mind, body, and spirit. That is why the faculty and staff within Academic Affairs collaborate with staff in Canisius’ Division of Student Affairs and Office of Campus Ministry. By working together, we provide a seamless environment in which students learn, live, and celebrate life.
Come visit us or start your process of getting to know us through our online resource pages. Canisius, where leaders are made. Come be part of the excitement that is Canisius.
