As the job market evolves, students, alumni and employers have all come to rely on the extensive services provided by the Canisius College Career Center. The office helps individuals identify interests and develop skills for lifelong career satisfaction through one-on-one career counseling, resume and referrals, alumni networking and access to on-line career information. In 2005, nearly 2000 undergraduates and alumni met with Career Center counselors to take advantage of these valuable services.
The business community takes equal advantage of the Canisius College Career Center. Currently, 1674 employers support the center, many through an automated on-line job posting site, which saw 2194 postings in 2005 and resulted in nearly 4000 resumes reviewed.
Some of the electronic job resources available through the Career Center are:
- CollegeCentral.com – A Web-based system that provides on-line access for students and alumni to search available career opportunities
- Career Zone – An on-line self-assessment tool that matches the user’s profile with possible occupations
- InternCenter – An on-line resource for students seeking internship experiences in upstate New York
