Grants

Grants are a key source of financial support for both research and clinical programming of members of the iar. The following is a sample of current and prior funding used to conducted a range of research studies, as well as provide clinical services involving individuals with autism and related developmental disorders. We are grateful to all the local, state, and federal funding sources for their support.

2013 The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation. ($357,118). PIs: M. Thomeer and C. Lopata. Three-year grant funding a pilot study of an outpatient treatment for children with HFASDs, a phase-4 community effectiveness randomized clinical trial for children with HFASDs, and a training program for dissemination of the treatment.
2013 Institute of Education Sciences, US Department of Education. ($3,399,077 – R324A130216). PIs: C. Lopata and M. Thomeer. Four-year randomized clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy of a comprehensive school-based intervention for children with HFASDs.
2011 Organization for Autism Research – Applied Research Competition ($30,000). Randomized clinical trial of Mind Reading and in vivo rehearsal for children with HFASDs. PIs: M. Thomeer and C. Lopata; Co-I: M. Volker. Eighteen-month randomized clinical trial.
