02-08-05 Chaotic Semesters=Unprecedented Productivity

Hello All!
The semester has commenced in full-force and it is without a shadow of a doubt that I believe when you have lots of tasks to complete, you perform better. While last semester my academic aim was a 4.0 and while I did not get it (I ended up with a 3.74) I still believe that having so many things on my plate made me a better person. Some college students lament the workload and the seeming impossibility posed by it to do well in classes, but I strongly disagree; at the end of the day, it all comes down to time management. Some have it, others need it, and all of us can stand to finely tune ours just a little bit!
This semester I am taking the last required classes of my major (research methods and theory) and I am taking some electives (urban sociology and race/ethnic relations) that will enable me to be completely done with my sociology/anthropology major by the end of this semester, leaving me room to pick up another major, minor or something of the sort next year when I am a senior. Funny that I mention that I will be a senior next year since it seems like only yesterday when I came here as a freshman after graduating from high school. Time flies when you are having fun I guess, and I have truly had some fun!
This semester I am aiming to get a 4.0 and I really want it...badly!!! I have tons of service learning to complete, I have a research proposal to complete, I have tons of presentations, papers, tests and quizzes to complete, not to mention I got a promotion in the Annual Fund (I am the newly-created Training Supervisor) and I am tutoring, all in this semester. I still think that I can pull straight A's and the key is that you have to believe it; after that, you will come to see it! Enjoy my ramblings until next time and a Happy Valentine's Day and Lenten season to all!
