03-01-05 Good Times!

Hello everyone!
I hope each of you enjoyed Valentine's Day and even received some gifts or expressions of love. It is always nice to feel loved! Great things have occurred since my last entry and there are more events to come...
On Feb. 24 the IU Soul Revue came to the college once again to showcase their enormous talent. Each year, Canisius welcomes talented students and performers from Indiana University to come and put on a musical performance and interactive show for us and this year--just as last year--the event was absolutely fantastic! The IU Soul Revue is one of myriad events that the college participates in and hosts annually. In case you want to know what else is going on at Canisius, please navigate our web site at www.canisius.edu for more information.
As you probably know, we are currently in the Lenten season and for us Catholics, that entails no meat on Fridays. All religions that participate in this glorious event sacrifice something for forty days, and this year I decided to give up meat...for forty days! While I can admit that it has not been easy giving up steak quesadillas, chicken fingers and turkey wraps, I find strength in my reason for doing it!
Spring break is coming up shortly here at Canisius, which is the time where many students ultimately take a needed yet temporary breather from classes and begin to start contemplating review for finals. I myself will be spending my break with family and be working on my research proposal and other written assignments. I also plan on spending part of the break completing my forty hours of service learning for my urban sociology class. In short, while it will surely be a busy break for me, it will be a period for me to relax...a little!
Well everyone, enjoy your Easter and have a reflective and mindful observance of Lent and Passover.
