1-17-05  When All Else Fails...Tell Them Your Dog Ate It!

Welcome back Companions on my journey!
I hope everybody enjoyed their winter break, and for those of you in high school, sorry that we had two more weeks off than you. As for my break, it definitely went by too fast and I cannot believe that the second semester is starting back up again.

I will travel back in time to about a month ago for my finals and such. That was such a crazy time for me. Word to the wise, definitely do not schedule yourself to work a lot during finals week, well at least more than 40 hours. See my problem was that I had three jobs at the time and worked a total of probably 60 hours during finals and I was at Canisius until 1 am almost three nights in a row finishing final projects, essays, and papers. You would think that having only two in class exams would be a dream come true. Well I can say that having two final exams, an online exam, final project, and two in class exams in no easy task.

However, with everything in my life that was going crazy during finals week, I still managed to pull a 3.51 (Dean’s List! Woohoo!) Over break I pretty much took a long needed break from college and just worked a majority of the time and went out at night with my boys, the usually vacation stuff. If you can remember from last time however that I had also been asked to become an RA (Resident Assistant) for the Delevan Townhouses and for a few days I had been slowly moving in and just totally finished the other day. One thing I don’t understand about my room is that the thermostat says that it is 70 degrees yet it feels like its 50. I don’t think my furnace is working right.

Another conflict that I faced at the end of last semester was two broken computers: a desktop and my laptop. Well I can update you and tell you that both of them are still not fixed! After two months of being without my desktop, Circuit City finally agreed to check it out and I’m supposed to have a guy come soon to replace the hard-drive and motherboard or something along those lines. Unfortunately I am going to lose all my work that I have done so far up to this point, and of course I didn’t save it on a disk or any place else. Another word to the wise, save your work on a disk besides your computer or get one of those nifty thumb drives that is an external hard drive that you can carry around with you. Believe me, it is well worth it.

So I believe that I am ready to start another semester. I’ll have 18 credit hours, President position of CSA, RA responsibilities now, Manager at McDonalds, Work Study job in the Office of Campus Programming and Leadership Development, Church Choir, Canisius Chorale, possibility of playing soccer at Sahlen’s in Elma (I believe)…hold on to your seats folks, it’s going to be one long ride! Take care and on Valentine’s Day gentlemen, tell your mother that you love her and give her flowers, it’ll make her day. Besides, mothers deserve it!
