"Beginning of the End"
So the title of this entry doesn’t sound so great, but it’s the truth. It is the beginning of the end of my last semester here at Canisius as an undergraduate student! I can’t believe it. I think I have said this a couple times before, but I feel like I just started college and now it’s coming to an end. One word of advice: do not take college for granted; it will definitely be the four fastest years of you life! Anyway, enough of all that sentimental stuff…
Where did I leave you last? Oh yeah, the end of last semester…

Going home for break was really enjoyable. Being able to “relax” was great. I put relax in quotations because I worked 90% of the break, but I consider it relaxing because there was no homework when I left and nothing else to really worry about. I was able to see all my hometown friends and that was great as usual. The only bad thing about going home is that I am from a small town and there tends to be a lack of things to do. Eventually, we figure out something to do, but it usually consists of going to Timmy Horton’s (only 24 place in the area other than Denny’s) and drinking coffee for hours on end or just hang out at somebody’s house.

Hanging out with my hometown friend Katie |
Christmas Eve and Christmas day with my family is always an exciting time. For Christmas Eve my family went to my Grandparents (Dad’s side of the family) house for dinner and the first round of gifts. Christmas morning was spent at my house opening round two of gifts with my parents and sister. For brunch my Grandparents and Great Uncle came over. Finally for dinner, we went to my cousin’s house (Mom’s side of the family) for the third and final round of gifts. Overall, I made out pretty well.

Me & my cousin Chris at Christmas Eve Dinner |
This New Year’s Eve was the first time I went to see the ball drop downtown in Buffalo! It was a lot of fun. I hung out at my friend Katie’s apartment until 10:30 then we went down to “First Night Buffalo”. They had a live band playing and the ball drop at midnight. The good and bad thing was that it was raining. It was bad because everyone was soaked, but good because that made it slightly more exciting somehow. Nonetheless, it’s always fun seeing the ball drop, the fireworks, and all that stuff on New Year’s Eve. However, I have no resolutions this year because those never work out anyway.
The month off flew by as usual, and even faster this year because I was working so much. So before I knew it, I was back here at Canisius and it was the first day of class. I am taking six courses again this semester. My schedule consists of two sociology courses (Social Problems, Environment & Society), two psychology courses (Heath Psychology, School Psychology), a communications course (Communication Theory), and an education course (Family and Community Involvement in Early Childhood Education). So far so good in all of my class, and hopefully they aren’t too time consuming, I want to live it up my last semester!! Haha… just kidding, I’m sure they will be and I’d rather it be that way, it makes the semester a little bit more interesting.
That’s about it for now. I am looking forward to a great last semester, and for the time being, enjoying the snow that won’t stop falling! Hopefully I can make it down to Ellicottville, New York for some skiing!!
