“Row, Row, Row Your Boat...”
The end of October and the beginning of November is always the best part of fall semester. There are usually no exams because midterms are over with by this point and mid-semester papers have already been turned in. Also, at the end of October there is Halloween and at the beginning of November is my birthday!!!Halloween was so much fun! I dressed up as a member of the crew team. I was able to wear my friend Kelli’s Canisius Women’s Crew uniform. She is a tour guide and I was going to use her nametag, buy a wig, and be her, but I didn’t want to spend $20 on a wig! So… yea, I was just a crew team member.

As you can see, my roommate John was a construction worker and my friend Julie was a 1950’s House Wife. It was definitely a fun weekend! We went to a party at my friend’s house on Friday night and then out to a dance club on Saturday night.

On November 6, I celebrated my 21st birthday!!! It was definitely an exciting day that I had been waiting for quite some time to celebrate. The day before my parents came up from home to go out to dinner with me after I got out of work at the mall. They also brought up a cake that all my friends and I enjoyed. At midnight, I went out to have my first legal drink as an adult with John and Julie. I also had about 75 Facebook messages from everyone, and their mom, wishing me a happy birthday, which was very nice!! Thanks everyone!!
On Monday, one of the Admissions Counselors, Rachel, bought me a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte (my favorite in the winter!!) and a blueberry scone. On Tuesday, my work-study boss, Debbie brought in the most amazing chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. In the evening, about 20 of my friends and I went to Cecelia’s Martini Bar & Restaurant for dinner and drinks. It was probably one of the most fun nights of my life. Not to mention I am a “complete” adult now, which is a pretty cool thing.

It’s back to the grind now though. I have two exams next week, papers due in the next two weeks, and finals are going to sneak up fast! Before I know it, it will be the end of the semester and I will be preparing for my last semester here at Canisius!! I still can’t believe it!
