This spring semester has been pretty busy as usual so far! Papers, exams, papers, papers, and more papers!! I can’t complain too much though. One of the joys of being a social science major is that you always have a ton of reflection, but there are usually no quizzes. And personally, I’d much rather write a paper. Two of my friends that are clinical laboratory science and accounting majors are taking a sociology class with me this semester, they can’t stand all papers. It’s just something they aren’t used to! Haha!
All of my friends seem to be having birthdays this spring semester too! Birthdays are also a lot of fun at college because you can usually extend the celebrations for an entire week. My friend Jerry just celebrated his 21st birthday and it has turned into one of those week long celebrations. His birthday was on a Tuesday, so we went out on Monday night at midnight to kick off the week. I told myself that wasn’t a good idea, but I had to go! I definitely regretted it a little on Tuesday when I was drinking coffee like it was water to stay awake. On Tuesday night, a bunch of friend’s got together to surprise him when he came home from a family dinner. We still do homework though, so Wednesday and Thursday night were the only nights off that week! But we made up for it on Friday and Saturday when a bunch of graduated seniors came back to celebrate with us again! It’s was great seeing your friends who have graduated and you don’t get to see all the time.

This week everyone is counting down the day’s until spring break. Everyone seems to have big plans to go to Florida, Mexico, and on cruises!! As for me, I will be staying here in Buffalo. It’s not an entirely bad thing though, a couple of my best friends will be around and I will be making money at my two jobs. Also, on Thursday and Saturday the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball tournament first and second rounds will be here in Buffalo!! Canisius College and Niagara University are co-hosting the first two rounds at HSBC Arena downtown. My Dad was lucky enough to score two tickets for all the games and I am extremely excited to get a feel of the real March Madness, instead of just watching it on TV! This is the second time Canisius and Niagara have co-hosted the tournament and it is always a great time. Not to mention, that Saturday is also St. Patrick’s Day, so it is bound to be a fun weekend.
That’s about it for now, I’ll let you know how the everything turns out next month…
