Summer 2006
Schools Out for the Summer!

May was one of the busiest months of my life. The end of every semester is always one of the most stressful times in a college student’s life. I took 6 courses (18 credits) last  semester and it was definitely a big workload.  Luckily, I still managed time to have some fun in between all of the final paper writing and studying.

I have quite a few friends on the Women’s Crew team, one of the club sports here on campus. They had a regatta in early May in Rochester, New York (about an hour East of Buffalo) and I went with three friends to go cheer everyone on! It was so much fun, and I also got to visit with one of my friends from back home in Lewiston that goes to the University of Rochester, which was a nice side trip.

The next weekend, which was the weekend before exams (Ahhh!) was Spring Fest. It is always a good time. There was a big carnival in the parking lot of the Koessler Athletic Center and this year they had a bull-riding machine. I was able to watch one of my psychology professors ride on it. It’s always fun when you see one of your professors outside the classroom having a good time, makes them seem more human! As for exam week, it was definitely tough but I made it, which is always a relief, and with a pretty good GPA.

The hardest part about the end of the semester is saying goodbye to your friends that you have been with everyday for the past 9 months!! Luckily, one of my friends from Cleveland, Ohio has already come back to visit me and I went to Long Island, New York to visit one of my other friends. It was nice and relaxing to spend part of my two weeks  on the beach, getting a tan with my best friends.

Now that I am back at school, it is time to start working again. I am on the Orientation Staff for the summer and I am really excited to get started! I am also giving tours in the admissions office, which I love doing. I am just happy it’s summer and the warm weather has arrived!
