The Start of a New Semester

We're back to school again and I have to say, it’s really not as bad as I thought.  I’m only taking four classes, but it’s mostly so that I can work more hours at Mt. St. Joseph’s Academy down Main Street. I work as a student teacher for kindergarten there.  It’s my work study job.  I’ve learned a lot from those kids over the past few months…  Like, those “scented markers” that everyone thinks are amazing when they’re 6, actually smell like nasty and make me want to puke.  By the end of the day yesterday, I had been forced to sniff about 8 markers, and every single kid in the class had the marks of an arrangement of colors right on the tip of their nose.

Downtown Buffalo - waiting for the ball to drop!
Let’s talk about New Years Eve.  Mine was fantastic.  After carefully choosing the downtown Buffalo scene for our place to celebrate, me, my boyfriend Matt, and my friends Gabe and Isaiah set out for the subway.  What a ride that was!  If you ever want to find out what it feels like to be one of those people on the buses in China, take the subway on New Years Eve.  It was insane.  There were some guys from some another country and they kept shouting some fruit, maybe kiwi, over and over again and then high five-ing each other.  Every one was a little hyped for the New Year.  I was just excited to see the ball drop and to get my kiss at midnight!  Overall, the night was wonderful.  It was my first time going downtown and it turned out to be just what I expected: thrilling, cold, and a great way to start the new year.

For some reason, I have found myself looking back and reflecting on my past a lot recently. One night at my friend’s house, we ended up looking through all of his old photo albums and yearbooks, and it really inspired me to do the same. Looking back made him smile and think of happy, as well as sad, memories, but it also was interesting for him and me, to see how he had changed and grown. Right after that we went to my house and looked at an old scrapbook of mine. What I think is totally ironic is that a few days later, I went on Facebook to see that I was tagged in a photo of my fourth grade class! I went to St. Barnabas School which is a VERY small school. My graduating class was only of ten. Anyways, of thirteen kids in this picture, nine of us left comments on it. It was kind of neat because I haven’t talked to a few of those people in a long time. I definitely suggest everybody looks back at some old pics or calls up an old friend. It’s amazing how great it will make you feel.

A picture of my fourth grade class: can you find me?

Mitch - the star of "Find a Match for Mitch"
So I have on last thing to say, my friends, and that is I have decided to create, produce, and direct a reality show that will be airing on CCTV very soon! The show is called “Find a Match for Mitch” and the motive is to, well, find a match for my friends Mitch. Any girl who wants to be a contestant on the show should either contact me or Cella Nlandu (one of the freshman class Senators) or search for our group on Facebook! Were hoping to get a lot of viewers and we think it should be lots of fun! So PLEASE, let us know so we can get started right away. I will let you know when it’s on CCTV! Thanks for any help you can give!

Well I’m out for now.

Thanks for reading!
