Don't forget to file for financial aid for 2008-2009!

  • Eligibility for need-based financial aid must be re-evaluated each year.  Returning students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or a Renewal FAFSA to be considered for aid.
  • Students will receive an e-mail reminder in November from the federal processor. 
NOTE: Often this e-mail is found in the student’s “junk” or “spam” mailbox.  Be sure to watch for the reminder which will direct you to the federal FAFSA website.  
  • If you haven’t received the reminder by early January, you may access your FAFSA Renewal application at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Returning students should file the FAFSA after they and their parents complete their taxes, but no later than April 15.  The Canisius College Title IV code is 002681. 
NEW YORK STATE RESIDENTS:  Be sure to visit the New York State web link after you complete your FAFSA.  This will allow you to re-apply for your New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) grant.  If you miss the link, just log on to www.hesc.com. You must be registered for 12 credit hours per semester to receive TAP. The Canisius College TAP code is 0090.
