The Office of Financial Aid is committed to addressing the financial needs of students and their families, through personal and professional service.  We have provided tools to help you determine how affordable a Canisius education can be.

You may use the link below to calculate what you and your family may be expected to contribute toward college expenses.  The Expected Family Contribution calculator uses the need analysis formula used by the federal government in the processing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Once your family contribution is estimated, your need for financial aid is determined by subtracting the estimated family contribution from the total cost of the college.  Most financial aid is awarded on the basis of financial need.

As you use this site, remember that the figures you arrive at will be useful for planning purposes, but are only a rough estimate of your family’s financial strength and need for financial aid.  The need analysis performed when you complete the FAFSA will provide the most accurate and official calculation.  In addition, actual aid decisions are made on an individual basis.  Financial aid administrators can, and often do, adjust the figures when they consider specific family circumstances.
