Summertime at Canisius
Hello everyone! My name is Jim and this is the summer before my senior year here at Canisius. I am spending the summer on campus taking a few classes and working in the Admissions office. Summer classes are a great way to catch up or to get ahead because they are only five weeks long. Personally, I’m doing a little of both catching up and getting ahead all while I make some money through the work-study program.

The campus is a much different place during the summer because there aren’t nearly as many people around. It is pleasant though and I do enjoy it as I have stayed on campus every summer since I have been here. I live in a house on campus and luckily all seven of the people that I live with are here for the summer as well. I also have a number of friends that live in the area so it is not a lonely time at all.
It has actually been a fairly eventful summer so far. The first term of summer classes is already over and I have been home once to see my family. I am from Binghamton, NY, which is only about three and a half hours away so I can still go home for the occasional weekend when I feel the need to.

I also went to Cleveland, OH for a weekend to see some friends from freshman year. It was great to catch up with some guys that I hadn’t seen in some time. For me, the best part of college has been the friendships that I have made. Even if everyone didn’t stay in Buffalo, we still keep in touch and make the trip to see each other when we can.
As for life on campus, it is nice having such great weather to enjoy. This summer has just been full of beautiful days and as you can see by the pictures, we try to take advantage by playing frisbee in the Quad or something.

Hopefully in some of my future entries I will have pictures and stories about the Buffalo Zoo and some Bison’s baseball games, not to mention Thursday at the Square. Until then, hallelujah hollback.
