The End Is Near...

Hello everyone!

This is my first week back in the big city after a long and restful winter break. Because this was the last school break I’ll ever have, it was extremely sad leaving home. It’s just work from here on out….wow that’s depressing! However, there are a few exciting things going on that will prolong the whole graduating thing for a few more months.

I absolutely love my classes this semester. A couple of my favorites include Staring Your Own Fashion Retail Store and a Buying Workshop which will give me direct experience in exactly what I want to do. My most fun class is Creative Fashion Presentations. After taking business classes for four years I was ready for something different. It’s all about creativity and originality in this class. I’m really excited about the projects that include photography, trend forecasting and fashion show production.

Also, this week I started a new buying internship with J. McLaughlin. Hopefully this internship, along with my classes, will give me the skills needed for a merchandising training program after graduation. The only downside about my internship is the commute. The one-hour subway ride isn’t the best, but if I’m going to stay in the city I need to get used to it.
