10-21-2004     A New Year begins! 

Hello Everyone!!!

I hope you all had a great summer, even though the weather wasn’t that great here in Buffalo.  Luckily, for the first two months of school it’s been gorgeous out.  Well, I’m officially a sophomore, we’re about three months into the fall semester and everything is going great.  This year I’m taking challenging classes, living with my three best friends and working part-time at Admissions.

My classes are a little more challenging than last year.  On the good side my classes are so much more interesting because I’m taking classes that relate directly to my major.  Freshman year I just took the basic English, Math, Science and Area Studies, not that they weren’t interesting but it just helps to know that the business classes I’m currently taking I will actually use in my career. 

One advantage of being a sophomore is having housing choices.  Upperclassmen get their choice of five different townhouse complexes.  I’m currently living in the Village Townhouses with my four good friends from my dorm floor freshman year.  We have a five-person townhouse which includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, eating area, and living room.  Our guy friends live right next door, and we’re constantly in and out of each other’s apartment.  My roommates and I opted not to buy a meal plan because we thought we should take advantage of our kitchen by learning how to cook!  At dinner time during the first few weeks of classes, I would always be on the phone with my mom asking her help with whatever I was trying to cook.  Now, I would have to say my roommates and I have learned to make great chicken parmesan!

Just to let everyone know, I recently joined the Admissions Tour Guide Team.  I hope to have the opportunity to meet you and show you around our campus at Fall Open House on October 23 or November 13.
