Mid-Semester at the Fashion Institute of Technology

Hello everyone!

I can’t believe how fast senior year is going by!  It’s already time for midterms.  I’ve lived in NYC for about two months now and I am finally adjusting to the big city life.  If I’m not in class or working I’m exploring the city.  This past week I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, Staten Island, New Jersey, and Boston to visit my sister.  I love that Boston is just a four hour bus ride away.  Being able to see family is always a plus.  However, with my last semester quickly approaching I have to put all my efforts towards finding a job.  The past three years have been leading me to this point and I can’t believe it is here.  FIT is having a job fair next week.  A lot of companies from the industry will be here.  Hopefully new opportunities will come my way! (Keep your fingers crossed!)

A Beautiful Afternoon in Central Park

I’m currently looking for another internship for next semester so I can have experience in a different area of the fashion industry.  Right now I’m interning in showroom sales.  I’m thinking about going into forecasting and trends, styling or buying.  I wish I could intern in all aspects of the industry before I graduate.  Then I would know exactly what career path to choose.  But with the clock ticking I have to narrow it down to one area.  I hope I choose the right one.
