Housing Applications

It seemed like such a simple idea, find a roommate and then pair up with another pair to make a suite, and it even seemed to be going well.  The first person I asked said that she didn’t have a roommate and would be my roommate.  She even knew one of her friends who could be our suitemate along with her current roommate.  So we all filled out our applications and were about to hand them in together (you have to hand them in as a group).

About a week before they were due, however, to make a long story short, one of the members of our group dropped out.  So we were suddenly short one person and had no idea who would be the fourth member of our group.  This was a problem because everyone we knew already had a group for next year and we needed a group of four.  We had to go down to residence life to look at a list of people looking for roommates.  Yet, this didn’t really help.  Most of the people on the list were looking for just one roommate like us.  There wasn’t anyone who was looking for three other roommates and wanted to live in Eastwood (where we wanted to live).

This meant that we just had to give residence life our applications and hope that they found a good suitemate for us.  It was only a few days later when “reslife” emailed our whole group and we found out who the other person living us would be.  Although none of us knew her, after talking to her through griffmail, we all think that she seems really nice.  Although the procedure might have been a little stressful, in the end I think that we ended up with a really good group of people and I am confident that next year will be a lot of fun.
