12-17-04 One Down One To Go!
The first of my last semesters is almost over. Finals week is steadily approaching and now it is time to kick it into high gear. Things always get a little crazy on campus around this time. Class registration, finals, plans for vacation, and knowing it’s almost over.
This vacation I am finally looking forward to spending some time in Florida with my family. Not that I don’t enjoy going home, I am just looking especially forward to getting into some warm weather and having a change of pace. After not leaving a place for almost 6 months I think anyone would be excited and openly invite a change.
Trying to register for my last classes was a little hectic. I didn’t know what I wanted to register for and there were a couple of classes that I had to take. Making sure that I close out my major as well as my minor were the trouble spots. I had to make sure that every class I needed was being offered and then see if there was anything else that I simply wanted to take. When it comes right down to it, there are very few choices when heading into your last semester.
Many people have begun there final papers, and preparation for finals is underway as well. To date I have 2 projects, 1 portfolio and 3-4 final papers (one of them is optional). That may not seem like a whole lot of work, but when there are only 2 weeks left to get it all done it is a bunch of work. Once Thanksgiving comes and goes, it is time to give everything to finish off the semester right.
Waiting for the end of the semester can sometimes be the worst part of it all. Part of you can’t wait for it to all be over and the other part is so happy to be done with work for a while. But once the break comes for the most part, you will be spending so much time away from the friends that you have made at school (if you’re a resident anyway).
