2-23-2004 Living at Canisius
Hello again…
In this edition I would like to go into one of my favorite things about Canisius. The first thing that stuck out to me when I got here was the housing. I visited other college campuses before coming to Canisius and I was not expecting the housing to be so great in appearance, or comfort for that matter.
The residence halls were cool to live in for my first year and I was pretty happy over all with that experience. I enjoyed living in the Village apartments as well, which I did during my sophomore year, but I was truly blown away when I moved into Campion Hall, otherwise known as the Intercultural Living Center (or ILC).

Here are my friends Shirley and Eliezer, who also live in the ILC. They are both from the Bronx, and Eliezer is originally from Puerto Rico. |

Many of the international students who attend Canisius live at the ILC, students live there too. I like the fact that the international students can have some sort of a home when they are away from home. They have people in the same living facility who are potentially from the same country, and if not there are students here who can relate to them because they are going through the same thing.
Aside from the fact that it is a great environment, it is great in appearance. The kitchen is huge;it houses 4 stoves, an industrial freezer as well as 2 industrial refrigerators, and cabinet space. There are also 2 computer labs in the building.
I live in a triple. I have 2 roommates and we each have our own rooms. We have our own private bathroom and a living space. It is great to have our own space and still have the sense of a community.
