It is Friday and after a long week all I can think about is how great it is that my class is cancelled and that I now had time for a nap. I still have to get up early to give tours but it is ok because I am used to getting up for them anyway. I go into admissions like I do on every Friday and find
out there are three families coming in. I am a bit discouraged because large groups are not as fun because they are not as personal as they could be. One of the families did not show up so I started off on the tour.
I must say it was the best tour that I have ever given. The Rice family from Rochester was one of the two families that I was showing around. I relaxed as the tour progressed because they asked so many questions. At the end of the tour, we went back to Lyons hall where the father told me he had read my journal and gave me the biggest compliment by saying that I was a great ambassador to the school. That means so much to me because that is the kind of affect I want to have on people. It is amazing to hear that someone is actually reading this and came to visit and wound up having me as a guide for the day. It is good to know that your work does not go unnoticed and that people really appreciate it. Not to mention I felt like some kind of a celebrity.

I had something else all written out for this update but I had to type this up instead. I had an emotional moment after that because I only have 8 more weeks to have this kind of an affect on someone. I told Mollie and Jess (two of the great admissions counselors) about the tour and Mollie said she was proud of me; Jess was excited because we all work so hard to represent the college in a good manor. I got a little choked up because this is the last semester that I have to be apart of something I think is great.
The one thing I hope for anyone looking into schools is that they find something half as great as I did. I am biased but Canisius has greatly affected my life for the better and I can not help but push the fact that I have had the time of my life here. I made friends and had such a great chance to push myself and get out and meet new people and be an ambassador to such a great community. All of this is something I am not ready to leave.
