for Parents

Parents often play an active role in the admissions process and we welcome their involvement and questions.  Because Canisius College is committed to educating the whole person, your child will be nurtured academically, socially, and spiritually.  Our city-setting and proximity to Canada provide a unique learning and living environment, where students can grow as leaders outside of the classroom through research and internship opportunities.

Canisius acknowledges this may be an exciting and uncertain time for high school seniors and their parents.  We are here to help every step of the way.  Use this page to learn more about the admissions process, going to school in Buffalo, and financing a Canisius education.

Schedule an appointment with an admissions counselor and a campus tour to see first hand all the best Canisius has to offer.  We look forward to seeing you soon.

We have several exciting visitng opportunitites for your student this summer:

Accepted Seniors have their own accepted students section to see all of the news and events especially for them.

All Juniors & Seniors have the opportunity to take college courses this summer through our Explore Canisius Program. Where they can take courses for college credit for a fraction of the regular tuition costs.

Juniors can register for our summer Career Days: July 11-12.  Where they get to stay over night on campus and explore their future academic and career options.

Are you already the parent of a Canisius student?  Our Office of Student Retention is here to address your questions.  Serving both current parents and students, the office provides assistance in transitioning to college life.
