Fall is Here

Yesterday marked the first day of Fall.  The leaves are changing color and the weather is getting chilly.  I am about a month into the fall semester, and, already, I am busy!  There is a lot going on for me as a student and as an RA (resident assistant).  Classes are getting busier, homework is steady, and the notes are piling up!  My duties as an RA keep me just as busy.  From the weekly meetings and numerous community builders to the various resident issues that pop up, the life of an RA is anything but slow.

It is about the time of the year when teachers decide to give the first round of tests.  This means that within a two week period, I will have to take a test for most of my classes.  Though this can be stressful, I think that it is beneficial because by the end of next week, I will be done with tests for about another month.

Going through these stressful times in the past has taught me the importance of being organized.  By planning things out, like community builders and times to study, I have found that I can get more done and have time to relax.  Relaxing is definitely important when dealing with stress.  Taking a 20 to 30 minute nap in the late afternoon keeps me from burning out and increases my focus when it is time to do homework, study, or plan more fun community builders!

Although the Fall can be a very busy and sometimes stressful time of the year, it can also be very exciting and fun!  By planning things in advance and staying focused, the stress can be greatly minimized.  This leaves more time to enjoy hanging out with friends and other fun activities while staying on track in school.  So...stay organized and focused and the Fall can be a fun time for all!

Here I am enjoying a walk through the Quad!
