A Recap of My Arrival in France

I made it to France!
Bonjour Tout Le Monde!
The first few days here were a whirlwind. I arrived in the Lille/Europe train station about one o'clock in the afternoon. Two French students met me at the station and we began our long walk to my dorm room. I arrived at my room shortly thereafter and immediately started to take care of all the business that I needed to attend to.

Here I am with the rest of the international students at our picnic in the park.
The next morning the school had planned a picnic for all of the International students. We went to a beautiful park that is only a two minute walk from my dorm. After we finished eating our baguettes in Le Jardin de Vauban, a game of frisbee was started. Although the frisbee fell in the pond a couple times, the game was fun.
Later that night, all of us Internationals met up for a night on the town. We danced the night away and explored the night-life in Lille. Instead of listening to Hip-Hop at the dance clubs, the French seem to enjoy Techno. The biggest shock of all is that there are more guys dancing on the floor than girls. And the guys here love to dance.

Got to love school trips to the ocean!
I spent the rest of the week walking around Lille and seeing the different sites. However, on Friday the school set up a trip to go to the ocean. We stayed in an area called the Belle Dunes. I bunked with five of my friends in a cottage on the lake. It was about a twenty minute walk to the beach but it was well worth it. The scenery was beautiful and I would love to go back when it is warmer. Another trip is planned this weekend and I cannot wait to go on it, until next time!
