Economics 101 Summer Course
This summer course is an opportunity for rising high school seniors to earn college credit.
- Learn about the economic forces that caused the "great recession" and will lead us to economic recovery
- Appreciate the impact of the Federal Reserve System and how it stabilized our financial markets
- Discuss the recently avoided fiscal cliff and understand why it was put in place by Congress
ECO 101, Principles of Macroeconomics, is an explanation of market system through supply and demand analysis, and measurement of macroeconomic variables and development of economic models to analyze problems of unemployment, inflation and economic growth. Various fiscal and monetary policies will be discussed.
The three college credit summer course, held from June 24 - July 25, is $300 for high school students who will be seniors in the fall of 2013. Please submit materials as early as possible. Registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline for application materials is Friday, May 31, 2013. Students will be automatically registered for the course after being accepted for admission. Admission notifications will be sent within two weeks of students submitting their completed applications for the program.
