My Family
 |
As you know I am from Buffalo, NY. I grew up in the northwest part of Buffalo which is known as Riverside. In this journal I am going to tell you about my fantastic family. I am pleased to be a part of my family of five. I was the first born child of three boys on October 19, 1988. Yes my 18th birthday was only just last week but that’s beside the point. I have two younger brothers, the first named Matt who is the age 14 and attends my alma mater (Hutchinson Technical Central High school), and my youngest brother Josh who is a 7th grade 12 yr old that attends Montessori #32 (a public school located in downtown Buffalo). This could mean that there may be a few more family members attending Canisius in the years to come. I have a 48 year old Father named Dave who works as the head of advertising for a magazine called “Night-Life” and a 40 year old mother Kelly who works as the Director of Residential Services for a company called Opportunities Unlimited. We try to go on vacations as often as possible. Yet, vacations for a family of five don’t usually tend to be the cheapest thing in the world. My parents work and we have vacationed to places such as different parts of Massachusetts, all of the Disney oriented parks in Florida, Toronto, and many more!

My family is very sports oriented. Ever since I, as well as my younger brothers, was old enough to be involved in sports such as baseball, football, basketball, swimming etc., my parents were heavily integrated into each of our teams. Either by helping with coaching, keeping stats, or just cheering with all their might on the sidelines at every game, they were some of the most dedicated parents I’ve ever seen. We also love to attend many different sporting events and special events as often as possible. Whether it’s the Bills, Sabres, or Bandits games, concerts, “Disney on Ice” (for my little brothers) etc., you’ll find us there. In fact, my father has a suite we use at Dunn Tire Park (the home of the Triple A baseball team in Buffalo called the “Bisons”.)

But its not only in sports that my parents have stood by my side. For these parents I am very grateful because they have shown me the right path to follow in life. They have been by my side even in the worst of situations to give me guidance and help me to make the best decision possible. I have to be very thankful to have parents of this stature just because of the fact that I know many kids who don’t even know their father, or maybe even have lost one of their parents because some sort of terrible circumstance.
