The Education Department offers nine certification programs at the adolescence level (formerly secondary level).  The curriculum and eight-semester recommended sequence of courses are listed below.

Candidates wishing to obtain an extension to teach grades 5-6 (thus enabling candidates to teach middle childhood grades 5-6 as well as childhood grades 7-12) must take EMC 352 and EMC 391 in addition to the courses listed below.
