Canisius Over Coffee
10:00 a.m. – check-in at the atrium of Old Main
John J. Hurley ’78, executive vice president and vice president for college relations at Canisius College, will update alumni on the state of the college and answer your questions about future plans for Canisius. Take this opportunity to “be in the know” about alma mater.
Back-to-School Educational Seminars (seminars last about one hour)
11:15 a.m. - check-in at the atrium of Old Main
Choose between two fun and educational seminars in one of the remodeled classrooms in Old Main – now with air conditioning and state of the art technology.
Mark Castner, Director of the Braun/Ruddick Seismograph Station, will offer a seminar on "Earthquakes, Jesuits and the seismograph station; 100 years of shaking."
Michael Noonan, PhD, professor of psychology/biology and director of the animal behavior program will offer a seminar entitled “Exploring the Killer Whale Mind.”
Campus Tours (tours last about one hour)
12:30 p.m. – check-in at the atrium of Old Main
See how your old stomping ground has transformed into a state-of-the-art campus. Old Main and the residence halls didn’t look like this when you were in school! Guided tours conducted by student ambassadors will depart from the atrium of Old Main.
Alumni Liturgy
6:00 p.m. – Christ the King Chapel
Celebrate Mass together before the tent party. Alumni are invited to participate in Mass as lectors, gift bearers or Eucharistic Ministers. Alumni who are clergy members are invited to concelebrate Mass with members of the Canisius Jesuit community.
Alumni Tent Party
7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. – Main Quadrangle
$40 per person pre-registration; $45 at the door
This event has become the alumni party of the year! Last year, more than 750 alumni and friends attended. Enjoy an authentic pig roast along with other great food, drinks and live music.
The tent party will be moved inside to the Richard E. Winter `42 Student Center if it rains.
