Canisius College

Being a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors symbolizes your commitment to alma mater; it is a commitment that extends beyond attending  board meetings.  As members of the Board of Directors, you embody the lifelong relationship that is Canisius – we urge you to demonstrate that relationship by participating in the Canisius community and promoting the college in day-to-day life.

Member Responsibilities:

• Regularly participate in Alumni Board Meetings
  (Three consecutive unexcused absences equals automatic resignation)
• Regularly participate in meetings of your respective committee
• Participate in the college’s Annual Fund Campaign with a personally generous gift 
  (The board’s goal is to achieve 100 percent participation by Alumni Board members)
• Encourage high school students to attend Canisius
• Assist Canisius graduates and students in their job search
• Encourage Canisius alumni to attend Canisius events and to get involved with the college
• Stay up to date and current about programs and developments at the college in order to be a knowledgeable ambassador of Canisius
• Be a responsible and dutiful ambassador of the college in business and social settings
• Attend and participate in the following activities/ events:
• Distinguished Alumni Award Dinner* (November 1, 2008)
• Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony/ Reception*
  (TBA - Feb)
• Alumni Weekend Tent Party* and individual class reunion events
  (June 5 and 6, 2009)
• Buffalo Chapter events
• Chapter events outside WNY if you are in the area
• Class Reunion Committee

*Alumni Board Members will not be charged to attend these events
