Endowed Scholarships

Why do savvy students and their parents continue to choose Canisius College? It's because they recognize the exceptional value of a Canisius education.  They understand that as a Jesuit, Catholic University, we are going to care for the whole person - mind, body and spirit.  And they know that we offer outstanding undergraduate and graduate programs, distinguished by transformative learning opportunities that foster a commitment to excellence, service and leadership.

While the value of a Canisius education is immeasurable, for many families the the final choice of a college is determined by the cost of attendance.  We are committed to ensuring that talented and motivated students have the opportunity to attend Canisius, regardless of their financial circumstances.

But we can't do it alone.

With the gift of an endowed scholarship, you will play an integral role in putting a Canisius education within reach for deserving students.  With your help, we can continue to attract the best and brightest learners to our thriving campus community.  An endowed scholarship is not only an investment in the future of Canisius - it's an investment that makes dreams come true.

An endowed scholarship is a permanently invested fund that provides a perpetual source of scholarship assistance to deserving students. The gift is invested to achieve returns that will provide both current scholarship assistance and longer term growth to protect against inflation.

A minimum gift of $25,000 is required to create an endowed scholarship at Canisius College. While unrestricted gifts provide the best opportunities to assist students, donors may set certain broad additional guidelines or criteria for how they would like to see the scholarship awarded. Your endowed scholarship fund may be named in your honor, or in honor or memory of a friend or loved one. Each year, you will receive a report about the students who will benefit from your generosity.
