Forty-Eighth Annual Canisius College Board of Regents Scholarship Ball
The Forty-Eighth Annual Canisius College Board of Regents Scholarship Ball will be held on May 3, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo.
The Regents Ball provides an opportunity to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Western New York while also raising vital funds for the Regents Scholarship Endowment Fund. The Scholarship Endowment allows deserving students to stay the course to personal and professional success despite financial challenges. Thanks to the support of alumni and friends, last year’s Ball raised more than $111,000.
At this year's event, the Board of Regents will honor Russ Brandon with the 2014 Distinguished Citizen Award. Brandon was named CEO of the Buffalo Bills in 2009 and president in January 2013 after serving as the chief operating officer and general manager. One of the youngest men in the league to hold a team’s top business position, he has directed the regionalization of the Bills franchise, a strategy that has saved the viability of the team in Buffalo. Under Brandon’s leadership, the Bills are committed to improving life in Western New York through community outreach and charitable investment in the areas of fitness, health and safety.
