Academic Advisor for Athletics

Clancy Seymour is our Academic Advisor for Athletics at Canisius.  His job is to assist you with all of your academic needs.  If you have any questions regarding your academic standing or if you are thinking about degree program changes, please see him.  All freshmen will meet with Clancy to learn about the resources available on campus.  Clancy is also available to help in a confidential and responsive way to all student-athletes.  He will oversee the student-athlete contract procedures put in place this academic year.  If you are dropping or adding classes, he needs to be aware of this.  You cannot compete for your varsity team without a signed contract for every class.  His extension is 3708 and can be reached by email at seymourc@canisius.edu.

CHAMPS Corner

Visit CHAMPS Corner on the first floor of the Koessler Athletic Center located across from the main gym.  There you will find laptop computers and quiet work areas for your use along with information pertaining to each of the five areas of interest.  Please check with your coach or SAAC representative for the operating hours of the facility, or if you need to borrow a laptop for a road trip.

Chi Alpha Sigma

Chi Alpha Sigma is an honor society established to recognize college student-athletes who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior years.  Chi Alpha Sigma hopes to bring honor and recognition to deserving student-athletes, their families, teams, athletic departments, and colleges in much the same way as Phi Beta Kappa honors scholastics.  Chi Alpha Sigma presently includes more than 50 Colleges and Universities as members and Canisius is the only MAAC school to hold membership in this society.  The student-athlete must apply using the application below.  The student-athlete's and their coach's signatures are required on the nomination form.
