July 8-August 3, 2010 (tentative dates)
Our team partners with a Polish orphanage for a three week summer camp, which is staffed by Polish volunteers and college students. Each of us becomes a part of a “small family,” living, eating and sleeping alongside a group of orphans and Polish volunteers. Besides hiking, sports, crafts and skits, Canisius students hold morning classes in order to teach the children basic English skills. After the summer camp is over, Canisius students have the opportunity to visit Krakow, Auschwitz and Northern Slovakia.
The language barriers and the tight quarters make this trip very intense!
