Campus Ministry Retreats

On retreat, students explore real-world spiritual questions and form deeper relationships with one another. Our retreats are led by students for students with companions from Campus Ministry and from our faculty and staff. These retreats introduce students to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignaius which have been used by people of all faiths to help them examine their lives and begin to articulate a personal spirituality for themselves.

The following is a list of retreats planned for the 2014-2015 academic year:


Cradle Beach
Saturday, September 6th from 11am-11pm
This one day retreat gives first year students a chance to focus during the transition to the first weeks of college life. First year commuters, residents, and transfer students are welcome to attend. Transportation and meals are provided! Click here to register

Spending time away from Campus gives students the opportunity to relax and explore their personal spirituality more deeply on "God's time" (Kairos). This is an excellent "first adult retreat experiece" for people where we introduce the themes of the Ignatian Exercises through student and adult presenations, along with conversation in small groups.

This weekend retreat will give students who are exploring or recognizing their sexual orientation as gay, lesbian or bisexual.  We also invite those who are LGBTQ allies to share their experience of being a companion for their friends and/or family members.  This retreat is an opportunity to ask questions, discuss issues and listen to other’s stories in a safe and open environment. It is open to Canisius College undergraduate and graduate students. Click here to register

Erie Benedictine Community
April 10-11, 2015
FEE: $25 - students; $50 – affiliates

This is a single overnight retreat. It is open to all women at Canisius College and the women in their lives.  It is an opportunity to share from diverse faith backgrounds, traditions and prayers. We reflect by using rituals from various traditions and share the wisdom of the participants. Enjoying humor and relaxation together will heighten our awareness of the wonder of our womanhood and our spiritual lives. Click here to register
