Campus Ministry Retreats

At retreat, students deal with spiritual questions and form community. Our retreats are open to students of any faith or spiritual formation. Students can sign up or learn more about each retreat in the Campus Ministry office at OM207. Students may also register online.

The following is a list of retreats planned for the 2013-2014 academic year:

IGNIS - FIRST YEAR RETREAT
Cradle Beach
Free
This retreat gives first year students a chance to focus during all the changes and challenges of the first weeks of college life. First year commuters, residents, and transfer students are welcome to attend.

IGNATIAN WEEKEND
FEE: $45.00
This retreat is an opportunity to learn to recognize God in daily activities, to pray with scripture, and to use imagination as a child of God. Over this weekend students will begin to focus on three important elements of prayer for Christians: Scripture, quiet time for God, and having a spiritual guide.

KAIROS WEEKEND
FEE: $45.00
"Finding God in all things" is the basis for this Ignatian-based weekend retreat. Kairos alumnae said, “it [Kairos] has redefined my faith and belief in others” … "expect the unexpected and you’ll become open to the incredible spirit you possess inside” … "a place to let go and just ‘be’."

4th DAY RETREAT
FEE: $45
This is designed especially for Kairos alums, both undergrad and grad. Students are invited to refresh their spirit of Kairos in a new and meaningful way.

ALWAYS OUR CHILDREN RETREAT
FEE: $45
This weekend retreat will give students who are searching for or recognizing their sexual orientation as gay, lesbian or bisexual, or who are LGBT allies, an opportunity to ask questions, discuss issues and listen to other’s stories in a safe and open environment. It is open to Canisius College undergraduate and graduate students.

WOMEN'S SPIRITUALITY RETREAT
FEE: $25 - students; $50 – affiliates
This overnight experience, open to all the women of Canisius College and the women in their lives, is an opportunity to share spirit, tradition, and prayer. Using rituals from various traditions, sharing the wisdom of the participants and enjoying humor and relaxation together will heighten our awareness of the wonder of our womanhood and our spiritual lives.

SENIOR RETREAT
Free
Students will carpool to Camp Pioneer in Angola for a day of fun, reflection and celebration of their accomplishments. Come and relax and enjoy a walk on the beach and celebration with friends.

YOUNG ALUMNI RETREAT
Free
Young alumni will gather for a day of reflecting about sustaining one's faith after graduation. Participants will meet at Harvest House at 10:00am. Brunch and dinner are included. Mass with Father Tunney will be offered.
