Lockers
Commuter students may sign out lockers at no charge for the duration of the school year.  All lockers are located in the tunnel level of the Richard E. Winter '42 Student Center.  Lockers may be reserved in the Office of Campus Programming & Leadership Development beginning on the first day of classes.

Magazine Exchange
Students and staff are encouraged to donate their old magazines to the Commuter Lounge.  These items are available for any student to browse through will hanging out in the lounge.  Please be sure to remove any personal data such as your address before leaving these publications in the lounge.

Free Movie and Game Rentals
Commuter students are encouraged to take advantage of the RHA Rental Office located in the tunnel level of Palisano Pavilion, just across from the Street Side Cafe.  Here you can "rent" free movies, board games, cleaning equipment such as vaccuum cleaners, and more!  Check out the Rental Office website here.

The Gameroom
The Gameroom is located in Penfold Commons, between Bosch and Frisch Halls. The Gameroom consists of two pool tables, two dart boards, two ping pong tables, bubble hockey, air hockey and foosball. All equipment can be used by students with a valid student ID card. Normal operating hours for The Gameroom are 11am-11pm, 7 days a week.  Check out the Gameroom website here.

NFTA Program
All Canisius College undergraduate students have access to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) with their Canisius College student transit pass.  Visit www.nfta.com for more information on routes and schedules, or call (716) 855-7300.  Passes can be picked up in the Office of Student Affairs, Old Main 102.

Motorist Assistance Program
The motorist assistance program assists students, faculty and staff if your keys are locked inside the vehicle, you need gas, air for low tires or a jump start.  Public Safety Officers will also call your auto club and wait with you if you are in a deserted area late at night.  Just call Public Safety at 716-888-2330 for assistance.

Shuttle Service
Shuttle bus service is available from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m., 7 days a week, when classes are in session during the spring and fall semesters.  Public Safety also provides escort service on an “as needed” basis to students and staff who request it.  To call a shuttle or Public Safety escort, pick up any campus phone and dial 2330.  The Public Safety Dispatcher will send a shuttle bus or escort to your location.  The driver will not leave until you are safely inside your car and it starts.

VIN Etch Program
To help you protect your vehicle from theft, the Department of Public Safety offers the VIN Etch program several times a year.  The VIN Etch program is the permanent etching of your vehicle's federally-registered Vehicle Identification Number on the windows of your vehicle.  Etching the VIN onto the windows of your car makes it less desirable to professional car thieves and helps recover the vehicle if it is stolen.  There is no cost to you and participation in this program may save you up to 15 percent on your car insurance.  For more information, please click here.

VIP Program
The Valuables Identification Program is a free program which enables you to engrave your valuable property with your social security number, create an inventory list of your property, and obtain a photographic record of your property. This will assist you and law enforcement in the identification and recovery of your property in the unlikely event it is stolen and also make your property less desirable to thieves. Contrary to popular opinion, not all items are marked with serial numbers. Those that are, are usually equipped with stickers which are easy to remove or tamper with.  For more information, please click here.

Border Crossing Wait Times
Check out this website to see the estimated wait times for crossing the Canada-United States land border at certain locations.  All local crossings are listed.

Operation Snowbound
Operation Snowbound is a unique program designed by the Office of Residence Life that provides Canisius College commuter students the opportunity to experience living on campus. Students will share a room with a roommate and become an integral part of the residence hall community. Avoid the cold and snow or winter, retreat to the warmth of friends and new experiences. Be SNOWBOUND with us!
