Recreational Clubs

Bowling Club: Men and women participate in international league and tournament competition. Try-outs are held to choose those who will compete in matches. A small fee is included for bowling expenses.

Canisius Hip Hop Dance Crew: The Canisius Hip-Hop Dance Crew has the goal of supporting creativity, fitness, and community through the art and discipline of hip-hop dance, mainly Bboying (breakdancing) and other street styles.

C-Block: C-Block attends athletic events to create a fun and intimidating atmosphere for opposing schools. C-Block is open to all students by contacting one of the E-board members at any time. With membership, there will be a one time fee of $5, a membership card that can be swiped in order to receive points and prizes, a new shirt every year, and various other giveaways during meetings and events.

Club Wrestling: Club wrestling promotes strength of mind and body through teamwork, individualism and perseverance. 

Cooking Club: This organization is for students who share an interest in cooking/baking who get together to share recipes, cook with each other, and learn techniques from one another.

Endurance Athletes: The purpose of this club is to promote endurance sports, encourage and develop physical fitness, and to provide information on endurance sports.

Fencing: This club has been designed to provide students with a place to learn a new activity. There are no requirements, only the enthusiasm to learn the sport.

FUSION Gaming Society: This organization unites the members of the college community through mutual enjoyment of multiplayer gaming experiences.

Intramural Sports: Looking for a  little friendly competition? The Athletics Department provides students, faculty and staff the opportunity to participate in a variety of competitive and recreational sports activities. More than 1,000students play on over 140 teams in 17 different men’s, women’s and co-ed activities.

Intercollegiate Horse Show Association: Student riders compete at their own level of skill and experience. Students can expand their knowledge about horses and riding, as well as volunteer for equine related causes. 

Men’s Club Hockey: Men’s Club Hockey allows Canisius College students to participate in college hockey without having to compete at the Division I level.

Men’s Club Soccer: This organization is for men who wish to compete in soccer at a higher level than intramurals, but not at the varsity level. 

Men’s Lacrosse: This club sport allows students to participate in college lacrosse without having to compete at the Division I level.

Men's Rowing: Reestablished as a competitive club program in 2011, it caters to both experienced and novice rowers. The competitive season falls in the spring semester and we compete against both club and varsity programs. For more information please contact Head Coach Chris Pucella.

Men’s Rugby: This club sport provides Canisius men with the opportunity to participate in rugby at the intercollegiate level. 

Men’s Volleyball: This club sport provides Canisius men the chance to play volleyball at the collegiate level. Teamwork and hard work are promoted to achieve success.

Mixed Martial Arts Club: This group provides a safe, healthy environment for students to learn a unique style of mixed martial arts. 

Quidditch Club: Team members will have the opportunity to participate in Quidditch, both recreationally and on a competitive level.

Rifle Club: This organization encourages safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship. A further objective is to forward the development of those characteristics of honesty, self-discipline, team play and self reliance which are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism.

Ski Club:This club provides recreational snow skiing, snow-boarding and camaraderie among fellow skiers and boarders. Events include weekly ski trips throughout the winter months.

Student Athlete Advisory Committee: The SAAC serves to generate a student-athlete voice within the athletic department and the institution, to discuss issues and develop recommendations to enhance the well-being of student athletes on campus.

Table Tennis Club: The purpose of this club is to encourage student interest in the sport of table tennis and give students the opportunity to develop an understanding of the concepts and rules of the sport. This is a great opportunity to compete at the collegiate level. Members must maintain a GPA of 2.5 to remain in good standing.

Tennis Club: This club gives students the opportunity to play tennis with other Canisius students, and promotes tennis education and tournament opportunities.

Track & Field: This club allows students at Canisius the opportunity to participate in college level track & field competition without having to compete at the Division 1 level.

Ultimate Frisbee Club: The purpose of this club is to provide students an opportunity to play Ultimate Frisbee with other students, and to provide opportunities for competitive play.

Women’s Club Volleyball: Women’s Club Volleyball allows Canisius College students to participate in college volleyball without having to compete at the Division I level.

Women’s Field Hockey: The women’s club field hockey team provides competitive, athletic activity in a fun and enjoyable environment.

Women’s Ice Hockey: This club sport provides Canisius women the opportunity to participate in ice hockey at the collegiate level.

Women’s Club Rugby: The women’s club rugby team provides students with the opportunity to participate in rugby at the intercollegiate level.

Women’s Club Soccer: This club sport provides Canisius women the opportunity to participate in college soccer without having to compete at the Division I Level.
