Griffins After Dark is a social programming initiative that provides students with frequent, safe, no-cost, alcohol-free, and engaging late night activities during the academic year weekends. Griffins After Dark works in collaboration with student organizations, campus departments and local businesses to develop, support, and/or fund late night programs. We aim to empower students to plan and participate in socially responsible programming. All Griffins After Dark programs are scheduled from 11pm to 1am in Penfold Commons unless otherwise noted.
Griffins After Dark is modeled from Georgetown University’s What’s After Dark.
Weekend Programming Learning Outcomes
After participating in a Griffins After Dark or Canisius Cinema program, students will . . .
1. be able to identify and participate in aspects of a healthy campus/community environment
2. create and engage in an environment that allows for and promotes the development of satisfying and healthy interpersonal relationships .
After planning a Griffins After Dark program, CSPA graduate students will . . .
1. exhibit the ability to plan and organize diverse programs while maintaining an accurate and cost-effective budget.
2. demonstrate the ability to manage crisis situations and improve upon skills such as: organization, problem solving, creative planning, critical thinking, flexibility, and multi-tasking.
3. design and implement programs that enhance learning and appreciation for various cultural experiences and art forms.
4. foster a fun social atmosphere for those individuals planning and participating that allows for developing mutually rewarding relationships with new and existing friends and colleagues.
