The TRU College Life

January 26, 2012
7pm, Montante Cultural Center

By age 21, Julia gave up a lifelong dream of pursuing a career in NYC in order to start her own business. With nothing but a wallet filled with untapped potential and a broken down Toyota Corolla driving her dreams forward, Julia made her way across country where she would create truality.org. Within months she started the creative movement and thriving business that inspires people from all walks of life to be TRU, The Real U.

Within the following 8 months of her career she reached thousands of individuals in the TRU movement. She is now a powerful Motivational Speaker who uses her past experiences with death, addiction, self-destruction and her broken childhood as a way to fuel her strength in helping others fulfill their TRU potential and most importantly, building their courage to do so.

Julia is a powerful visionary, business owner, writer, athlete and spoken word poet, and through her youthful enthusiasm and fearless drive she is redefining what it means to be a Motivational Speaker. Julia Garcia earned her B.A in Communications from New York Institute of Technology where she was a scholar athlete on the soccer team, writer for the Campus Newspaper, reporter for the school news station and President of the Woman’s Association. She is now the Creator and Co-Founder of Truality.org; a TRU Movement inspiring Individuals to be TRU…The Real U.

This powerful presentation with speaker Julia Garcia, explores the TRU college life… after class has been dismissed. Through her fearless and highly engaging approach, she takes you on an unforgettable journey through the reality that comes flooding in like a bad hangover, after the partying, fun and hookups are over. Julia takes you through her real life experiences and excessive partying that ultimately led to her sexual assault, the death of her best friend and the infamous night that almost took her entire college experience away completely. Through her infectious personality and innate ability to connect with her audiences, she brings poetry, up to date stats, inspiring stories and empowering audience interaction to create one powerful and unforgettable TRU college experience that you won’t want to miss!
