Due Date: Last day of classes during Fall semester
Where to Submit: Alice Steltermann, HO-206, Department Office
This form must be completed by ALL students planning on doing research in the next summer or upcoming school year, including those who have already performed research with a Canisius faculty member. If a professor agrees to work with you over the summer, you will need to submit an application through the Canisius Earning Excellence Program (CEEP) which will provide a stipend for summer research. In order to be eligible for CEEP, you must maintain a GPA of 3.15. Learn more information about CEEP and how to apply.
These applications will be reviewed in a timely manner by at least several of the faculty in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. We will consider your research interests, career goals, and previous experience (including relevant courses) to decide if a good match may be made within the Canisius department. In general, your chances of finding placement will be enhanced if you are willing to work on a wider range of projects. The applications of students who have already performed research in the department will be referred directly to the corresponding faculty members. It is advantageous to have contacted your preferred faculty prior to submitting this application. If research slots are available and adequate matches can be made, faculty will contact students directly. Students who are not matched with Canisius faculty are encouraged to pursue extramural research opportunities (see page of links). The assessment of these applications will be completed by the beginning of the new year (January 15) so that you will have time to apply to other research programs with due dates in the coming months.
