Canisius College alumni who completed a minor in classics hold such positions as president of the University of Dallas, director of Harvard University Press, professor of classics, physician, attorney, author, editor and high school Latin teacher. A growing interest in the study of Latin at the high school level has led to a greater demand for Latin teachers. Latin also provides an excellent preparation for students intending to go to law or medical school for which the acceptance rate of classics is consistently high.
