2009 Commuter Student of the Year


The Office of Campus Programming & Leadership Development is proud to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the Commuter Student of the Year award!  Please review the selection criteria below and nominate any deserving commuter student by filling out and returning a nomination form found here (Adobe Acrobat PDF) to the office of Campus Programming & Leadership Development. 

Nominations are due by Friday, April 3, 2009. 
The Commuter Student of the Year will be notified by e-mail.


Commuter Student of the Year Award

I. Purpose of Award


To recognize a commuter student who has rendered outstanding service to the commuter student population at Canisius College.

II. Credentials and Qualifications of the Commuter Student of the Year
A. Must be a full-time undergraduate commuter
B. Actively participates in campus-wide events
C. Demonstrates strong dedication to the Canisius community
D. Is a responsible and engaged citizen in the community in which they live
E.  Displays academic excellence and maintains a minimum 2.5 GPA
F.  Exhibits enthusiasm and outstanding leadership in promoting the commuter student perspective
G.  Must be nominated by a commuter student, faculty, and/or staff  member


III. Details

A. This award will be given at the annual Leadership Awards Banquet on April 28, 2009. The student recognized will receive a certificate of recognition and have his/her name engraved on a plaque to be displayed in the Commuter Lounge
