Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a change agent who leads and supports efforts to improve the effectiveness of an organization. They facilitate teams to identify and implement changes in operation aimed at reducing waste, cost, time, and variation while increasing customer and client satistfaction. Lean Six Sigma Green Belts apply the tools they learn through their daily work as well as improvement projects.
Six Sigma Green Belt training is aimed at the adult learner, containing a mix of lectures, videos, exercises, discussions, simulations, and role plays. Training includes the use of Microsoft Excel for data related exercises. Standard versions of Excel will be supplemented with special templates made availabale to participants. Students must have familiarity with Excel prior to this training.
Topics covered in the training include:
Change management tools, such as communication skills, listening skills, decision making approaches, and team tools.
The Six Sigma DMAIC methodology with Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control Phases.
Six Sigma Tools including data collection and analysis, root cause analysis, and process control.
Lean tools including waste management, mistake proof and fail safe techniques, and visual management.
Each candidate is expected to have an improvement project identified before the start of training. The value of tyhe projects to the sponsoring organizations is typically no less than $25,000, and it is not uncommon to see projects returning significantly higher amounts. The ten days of training are split into 3 blocks spread over 6 weeks, allowingimmediate application of the tools learned to the project. Coaching and mentoring will be provided after the completion of training, helping the candidate complete the project. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification will be granted upon successful completion of training and the project.
