- The approach involved in an integrated production or service activity, i.e. a continuous work flow of work, with minimal inventories at each stage of the process.
- Defect prevention achieved by building quality into the process.
Production or service planning that is driven by customer demand and not just aimed at suiting inflexible manning and work flows.
