Objectives
This workshop will provide an introduction to the basic skills, principles and techniques of successful grant and proposal writing. Registrants completing the workshop will:

  • Become familiar with resources that help identify available funding opportunities.
  • Understand the fundamental components of a grant proposal such as an abstract or summary, background and significance, specific aims/goals and objectives, project design and methods, sustainability, assessment, broader impacts, budget, budget justification and cover letter.
  • Be able to identify strengths and weaknesses in actual proposals.
  • Develop strategies for developing a proposal.
  • Be better equipped to read and understand proposal guidelines and RFPs
  • Navigate online applications.
  • Learn strategies to write compelling cover letters.
  • Learn how to prepare and explain budgets.
