Microsoft Office Specialist Program

The Microsoft Office Specialist Program consists of two parts, all geared towards preparing you for the ever-increasing responsibilities of today's office staff.

Course Number: CPD OR1

Class Dates: May 30, 2012 - July 1, 2012, Monday and Wednesday

Cost: $1,895.00

Part 1: Students will gain and master the foundation skills for the entire Microsoft Office suite. Students will focus on working with Word and Excel spreadsheets. Students will learn how to create and edit presentations using PowerPoint. Each Student will learn today’s proper way of email etiquette. Students will be taught Business writing to be successful in today’s workforce.

Class Dates: July 16, 2012 - Augusy 15, 2012, Monday and Wednesday

Cost: $1,895.00

Part 2: Workplace Processes: This module focuses on managing processes in the office by using various tools available in the workplace. Students will learn how to use all the functionality and tools inside Microsoft Outlook, including calendars, scheduling appointments, and creating reminders. Students also learn the fundamentals of the Access database package and how databases are built and formatted Using Access. Advanced Modules of Word and Excel will be furthered taught. Microsoft Project for managing resources and budgets will also be presented.

These programs prepare you for the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification (MOS).

Computer Repair Technician Program I

In this course, students will install, upgrade, repair, configure, optimize, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on basic personal computer hardware.

Part 1 - Students will learn to:

  • Identify the components of standard desktop personal computers
  • Identify fundamental components and functions of personal computer operating system
  • Identify best practices followed by professional personal computer technicians
  • Install and configure computer components
  • Install and configure system components
  • Maintain and troubleshoot peripheral components
  • Troubleshoot system components
Upon completion the student will be prepared to take part 2 of the Computer Repair Technician. This will also give you a good foundation toward the CompTia A+ certification.

Computer Repair Technician Program II

In this course, students will install, upgrade the operating system. Install and manage network connections, support laptops, PCD, printers and scanners. Identify security issues

Cost: $2,195.00

Part 2 - Students will learn to:

  • Install and configure operating systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot installations of Microsoft Windows
  • Identify network technologies
  • Install and manage network connections
  • Support laptops and portable computing devices
  • Support printers and scanners
  • Identify personal computer security concepts
  • Support personal computer security

Upon completion the student will be prepared to take the CompTia A+ Exam
