APPLICATION PROCEDURES

As an applicant for admission, you must present evidence of your ability to participate successfully in a graduate-level academic endeavor. The academic program begins only in the fall semester. Although applications are received on a rolling basis, you are strongly encouraged to apply by March 1st if you are interested in an assistantship. Assistantship interviews are expected to begin in April. Students who have been admitted to the program will be invited to participate.

In order to be considered for admission, you must submit:

  • A complete application for admission to graduate study at Canisius College.

  • Two official undergraduate transcripts from each institution attended with the degree posted from the degree granting institution.  You must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning to be considered for admission with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.75, 3.0 in major courses.

  • Two letters of recommendation from faculty or student affairs practitioners.

FINANCIAL AID

There are a number of graduate assistantships for which students may interview. Assistantships can cover up to 75% of the program cost.

Traditional forms of student financial assistance are available for those who qualify. In order to apply for financial assistance, you must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and, if you wish to apply for a student loan, the Stafford Loan Application. Additionally, you must submit financial aid transcripts from all colleges and universities you previously attended.
