Research Interests:
student affairs at Catholic colleges and universities, student spirituality and spiritual development, the social philosophy of student development theory, organizational leadership and change in higher education

Dr. Estanek came to Canisius College as Assistant Professor and director of the master’s program in College Student Personnel Administration in 2002.  She received tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in 2008. Prior to joining the faculty, she was a student affairs professional for 23 years, including 15 years as vice president for student affairs at two Catholic colleges.  She is the author/editor of three books and multiple articles and other publications.  She is the executive director of the Association for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASACCU).

Dr. Sandra Estanek received the 2005 Robert H. Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member from NASPA Region II.  In 2008, she received the Contribution to Scholarship award from the Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
