CTE EQUIPMENT LOAN CONDITIONS
  1. Faculty (full and part-time), administrators, ITS and Media Center professional staff have full borrowing privileges.  If the borrower is not known to the lender, ID may be requested.
  2. Reservations are taken via e-mail, through the CTE website, or by phone (x3720).
  3. Equipment must be returned at the indicated time so as not to inconvenience other users.  If a person with loan privileges cannot return equipment to the distribution site before the end of the site’s business day, the equipment is to be returned by 9 am the following day unless special arrangements have been made.  The equipment should always be kept in a secure place in the interim.
  4. No loans are ever made to students.  If it has been prearranged, students may pick up equipment for a faculty member, but they may use it only under his or her direct supervision.  Under no circumstances are students ever allowed to take equipment off campus.
  5. Normal loan period is 24 hours or a fraction thereof.  Pending scheduling availability equipment may be borrowed over the weekend (Friday PM to Monday AM).  Extended loans other than weekends require the expressed consent of the Director of the CTE.  The maximum loan period is normally one week.  Extended loans are always subject to equipment availability and demand.
  6. A damage/loss liability form must be signed by anyone taking equipment off campus.
  7. All equipment problems (e.g. malfunctions, missing or lost components, damage, etc.) are to be reported to the CTE or its designate(s) when the equipment is returned.
  8. If emergency technical assistance is required during operation the borrower should contact the ITS Help Desk (x2299) or the FacTS Center (x2455).
  9. The borrower must pick up and return the equipment.  The CTE does not provide deliver or set-up service.
  10. Borrowers/users should be familiar with the operation of the equipment.  If not, they should seek technical training before operating the equipment from staff of CTE or FacTS.
  11. The CTE does not supply flash drives, CD ROMs, etc., but can supply a video cassette.
  12. For routine equipment/loan matters, contact Dede Johnson x3720 (8:30-12:15 daily).  For special requests or problems, contact Pat Coward x2839 or call her at home (634-6741) in an emergency.
Borrowers MUST verify that all power/connection cords are inside each specific equipment bag borrowed BEFORE returning equipment.
