The Graduate Deaf Education Program requires study in four areas of competence.  Courses in each of four semesters are arranged in a developmental sequence leading up to the time of student teaching.  There are 19 courses in the program, 59 credit hours.  Students who have baccalaureate or masters degrees in fields not necessarily related to the teaching profession will take additional courses to enable them to receive certification in either childhood or adolescent education.   These courses can be completed within the two-year, four-semester time frame.
